To locate the template select Auto-Consultation > ardens CONDITIONS INFECTIONS > HIV & AIDS
To save this template as a favourite, add it to your F12 favourites for quick access.
The template is split into separate tabs along the top for HIV and AIDS.
HIV
There are 3 sections Assessment, Impression and Management.
Assessment
Ticking the Review box will add the code 'Human immunodeficiency virus monitoring (XaQOt) (SNOMED: 504871000000109).
History and Examination are simple free text boxes.
There is a direct link to the Vitals & Lifestyle template should you wish to record any BP, Temp, Heartrate or Smoking/Alcohol etc. This is to save the need of having to exit the current template and open another.
Blood results for Absolute CD4 Count, Absolute CD4 (T4 cells) count and HIV viral load can be viewed or results added manually using these fields. Clicking in to any of these individually will display historical results in the yellow pane to the right side of the template.
Phlebotomy will allow you to look at recent blood results as well as adding a new blood test request via ICE/T-QUEST.
If needed, there is a link to the BBV Risk Assessment template (see below) along with QRISK2/QRISK3 and Osteoporosis Risk.
Impression
The Diagnosis Codes are available from the drop down. If the code you require is not listed, click on New Coded Entry alongside to search for an alternative.
Management
There are presets available along side the Plan free text box for frequently typed text; click on the preset button (notepad icon) and add 1 or multiple lines of text by pressing & holding Ctrl on the keyboard and using mouse to select. The text can be edited once added to the template.
There is a link to the Med3 & Letters template if you need to generate or view Med3 certificates, or any patient letters either scanned to the record or sent from the surgery.
There are hyperlinks to useful websites such as PH Reporting New Diagnosis and HIV Drug Interaction Checker.
Prescribing
There is a link to the HIV Formulary which lists medications. The view at the bottom will display any Allergies & Sensitivities recorded along with current medications and any past medications prescribed within the Infection Action Group of drugs. Right click on any drug to re-prescribe.
New Medication can be added by clicking New Acute to the right of the view.
Immunisations
Simple tick box to record Influenza immunisation has been advised or click Influenza Imms to view history or record new immunisation/refusal.
There is also a link to record other immunisations for Blood Borne Viruses, again this will show history and also ability to add any new imms given.
Cervical Cancer Screening advice can also be recorded by clicking the advice tick box or accessing the template alongside.

There is also a Mental Wellbeing Leaflet available as a Word Document. If using Ardens Pro package this will be localised.
Reports
There are registers available for anyone coded with HIV/AIDS. Go to Clinical Reporting > click on the Ardens Ltd folder: Conditions | Haematology >Registers or screening reports via Conditions | Infections > Performance Indicators > HIV Screening
