The template can be located in the following ways:
- Auto-Consultation > ardens NURSES & HCAS > ECG
- Embedded within other relevant templates such as BP Monitoring, AF screening, Atrial Fibrilation etc.
- Use the bottom left search bar in SystmOne
If using on a regular basis, save to F12 favourites for quick access.
Yellow stars indicate required codes for Local Enhanced Services payments if applicable in your area.
Referral
Select appropriate ECG referral code, this may have already been added by the referrer. A New Task button is also available for convenience.
Procedure
Add any applicable codes as necessary, Yellow Stars are important for payment purposes. If the practice provides fitting of 24 hour ECG there is a Diary Sheet available as a Word document to print out.
Clicking in to BP or Pulse rate will display any historical results in the yellow pane to the right of the template. Manually type a new result in to the relevant box.
Vitals & Lifestyle is also available should you wish to record further detail.
The Advice free text box has presets available alongside to save some typing.
Click on the preset button (notepad icon) and add 1 or multiple lines of text by pressing & holding Ctrl on the keyboard and using mouse to select. The text can be edited once added to the template.
Results
Record ECG findings, rhythm from the drop down menus.
Attachments is a view of 'Record Attachments' in the SystmOne record so you can look at any previous attached ECGs without having to exit the template and navigate to that area. It also allows you to attach a new ECG report.
Follow-Up
The Follow-Up template shows any current appointments booked, outstanding tasks etc. Also has a link to the Appointment Ledger if needing to book a further appointment for the patient.

To view interpretations, click on Rhythm, Structure and Axis tabs at the top of the template. Further information can be found here.
