This template is based on the latest NICE guidance to help guide correct management and treatment choices.


The template can be located in the following ways:


  • Auto-Consultation > ardens CONDITIONS INFECTIONS > Lower UTI - Female & not pregnant Age >16y
  • Use the bottom left search bar in SystmOne
  • Via the General Consultations template (genitourinary tab)


If using on a regular basis, save to F12 favourites for quick access.


The template is split across separate tabs along the top or hyperlinks within the home page, this allows you to navigate to the appropriate section dependant on the age of the patient.


Home

The home page provides a snapshot of relevant medical history for any infections or covid coding, microbiology results and relevant medications.


16-64y

You'll notice the options within the Management section at the bottom of the template are initially 'greyed out'.  The appropriate management and advice will be highlighted once you've ticked the relevant box in the Impression section.


Assessment allows you to add key symptoms, along with any other symptoms and findings.

Clicking in to any of the Vitals fields will display coded historical results in the yellow pane to the right side of the template.  Manually type the new result into the appropriate box.


If you suspect the patient may be at risk of Sepsis, the sepsis risk template is located just above the Vitals fields where you'll find NEWS2 scoring, NICE & SIRS guidance.


The Findings free text box has presets available alongside to save a bit of typing.

Click on the preset button (notepad icon) and add 1 or multiple lines of text by pressing & holding Ctrl on the keyboard and using mouse to select. The text can be edited once added to the template. 



Amber Flags

Here are useful links to the relevant templates if Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), STI or Pyelonephritis is suspected.


Dipstick

Guidance on when to perform dipstick and link to the urinalysis template.


Impression

One of the boxes must be ticked to activate the Management guidance greyed out below. 


Management

Allows you to quickly document advice given.  The Target Leaflet is available as both a word document to print or hyperlink if preferring to forward by text/email instead.


Prescribing

Click the Formulary hyperlink or Formulary tab along the top to prescribe medication.

Bottom left of the template will show eGFR results, you may need to click in to the boxes to display results in the yellow pane to the right side of the template.

TIP: To return to the previous page, use the tabs along the top of the template.  Clicking Ok will close the template.


Urine Culture MC+S

This template allows you to document symptoms and provides interpretation and historical results for the patient.

The layout of this section mirrors the age 16-64y  tab as above but you'll notice different guidance and advice. 

Again you'll need to tick a box in in the Impression section to activate the appropriate Management currently greyed out below.

Tick to document advice given and access the appropriate link alongside. 

There is a Delirium Screening template available and ?Cancer if suspected.


Click the Formulary link to access prescribing.

TIP: To return to the previous page, use the tabs along the top of the template.  Clicking Ok will close the template.


The Follow-Up template shows any pending appointments/visits, outstanding tasks, SystmOne recalls etc. There is a link to the Appointment Ledger, creating a task etc.


Resources

The Resources tab contains useful website links with information that can be sent to a patient via text/email by copying & pasting the link in to Send Message.



Reports

There are a number of reports to identify patients with a recent UTI and where antibiotics were issued / not issued.


Go to Clinical Reporting > select the Ardens Ltd folder > Conditions infections > Activity last 3 months
