The template can be located in the following ways:
- Auto-Consultations > ardens CONDITIONS WOMENS HEALTH > Menopause
- Embedded within the General Consultations template (genitourinary tab)
- Use the bottom left search bar in SystmOne
If using on a regular basis, add to F12 favourites for quick access.
There are several tabs along the top of the template dependant on the type of appointment, navigate to the required tab.
Diagnosis Tab
Tick menopausal symptoms that apply, further down the template shows when to consider FSH and there is a link to the phlebotomy template to send a new request to the lab (links to ICE/T-Quest). Also shows recent blood test results.
Consultation
This tab is split into 3 sections; Assessment, Impression and Management.
Assessment
The history free text box has preset text available to save a bit of typing.
Click on the preset button (notepad icon) and use mouse to select the required text. Press & hold Ctrl on your keyboard to select multiple lines of text. The text can be edited once added to the template.
Alongside the coding section there are useful tools/links to a printable Menstrual Diary, scored assessments for VTE Risk/Osteoporosis and the Vitals & Lifestyle template.
There are numeric fields to code BP/weight/height/BMI etc. Clicking into any of these fields will display historical data in the yellow pane to the right side of the template. To code new data, type in to the required field.
Management
A preset is available alongside the Plan free text box (notepad icon). There is a drop down to record a medication review for HRT and a link to the Menopause Formulary. You can also tick to record any contraceptive and screening advice given with links to the relevant templates if needing to prescribe contraception etc.
Menopause and HRT Formulary
The template provides guidance on medication to prescribe dependant on the patients menopausal status. Click in to the relevant blue hyperlink to add the appropriate medication.
Where there is a supply shortage for certain medications, you'll see a link to 'MyWay' website for up to date stock information.
The window at the bottom of each formulary provides a list of current and relevant previous medications. Right click on any of these to re-issue/re-prescribe.
GSM Tab
If the patient is experiencing any symptoms of GSM, this section allows you to quickly document the applicable symptoms. There is a preset available alongside the Signs box (notepad icon) to save some typing.
The management section has links to other useful templates should you need to record urine sample, swab taken etc.
HRT Risk Assessment
Prior to a patient starting HRT, a comprehensive HRT risk assessment is available with guidance provided on contraindications & cautions. The options within the Management section at the bottom of the template are initially 'greyed out'. The appropriate management and advice will be highlighted once you've ticked the relevant box in the Impression section.
HRT Review
Appropriate guidance provided for a comprehensive HRT review. The numeric fields again allow you to add new results or view historical data. There are useful links to contraception and screening templates. There is also access to the menopause formulary template for prescribing.
Referral
Provides referral guidance and adding appropriate codes.
Resources
Weblinks can be copied and sent to a patient via text/email.
