The Note Summarising template can be found on the Reception and Administration template either under Auto-Consultations - ardens OTHER PROFESSIONALS, by clicking on the Reception and Admin button on the tool bar or it can be added as a shortcut to F12 for quick access.
The Note Summarising template can be used by practices when the Lloyd George notes have been received and the practice wish to compare the paper notes with the patients electronic copy.
The Note Summarising template is divided up into different tabs:
History - Allows you to view the current recorded Diagnosis displayed in both problems and summary and all family history read codes. It is therefore possible to add any additional unrecorded Read Codes to the record without having to leave the template and search for them in the Journal.
Medication - This tab is split into 3 different sections:
Medications - Current and previous meds can be viewed from this section as well as buttons to issue any new acutes, repeats and shortcuts to the Drug review screen and nominated pharmacy. Tip - When viewing the previous meds it is possible to right click on these and either make them repeat or re-prescribe if required.

Allergies - Current recorded Allergies are displayed and further can be added through Record Allergy or Sensitivity
Procedures - Test, imaging, endoscopy and operation read codes can be added and back dated from this tab. Previous investigation can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
Scores - Various numerical read codes for different scores can be added and backdated from this tab.
Vitals and Lifestyle - Various vitals and lifestyle numerical read codes can be added from this tab.
Problems and Summary Sorter - Everyone uses problems and summaries very differently. This inconsistency makes it dangerous as information can be either omitted or duplicated.
At Ardens, we believe that ‘Problems’ should only be used for significant long term conditions (eg asthma, cancer, hypertension) and not for triage like complaints (eg cough, ankle problems). The ‘Summary’ can then be used for non-clinical items.
If you are using an Ardens long term condition template like asthma, it will automatically make asthma a problem. You can then click the asthma problem in the clinical tree, which will show you all the Asthma related consultations.
If you’re searching for all triage like issues, the best thing to do is to click the search box in the journal and then type in “cough” for example. This way you should see all the cough related issues.
For referral forms, it is important that both problems and summary entries are merged so they include any relevant information. To avoid unnecessary sharing of information that may result in a potential 'GDPR' issue and the relevant information being lost amongst other entries, only active major problems and current major summary items are included.
At the top is a view of their current Active Problems and Summary items. If there is something inappropriate in one of these views, just right click the entry and deactivate it. At the bottom of the template is a view of common diagnoses that the patient has. You can check that they all have an associated problem. If they do not, just right click the diagnosis and promote it to a problem.
