There are various ways to access the Phlebotomy Test template.  Either open auto consultations > ardens NURSES & HCAS > phlebotomy test  or, add it to F12 favourites.



Yellow stars indicate that the corresponding field is related to an enhanced service.   


Referral - read code if the patient was referred for their blood test or referred from secondary care


Blood test - use this to record that the blood test has been taken.  


1. record consent (don't forget the black pencil can be clicked to write notes if required i.e. verbal consent).  

2. use the to open ICE or SunQuest electronic blood test requesting.  

3. Read code Test - Blood Sample Taken 


You can also add which tests were requested, when the next test is due or other follow-up information, or add a local anaesthetic prescription 


Finger prick test - use this section to record if it was a finger-prick or INR point of care test 


Problems - did the patient bruise or faint, was there a needle stick injury?


Results - were any results given or discussed?


The bottom view panel - look here to see which bloods are due and previous results


There are buttons along the right hand side of the template which will open up with more detail on the corresponding section that you are using.

** You may see yellow stars even if your practice isn't signed up for that particular enhanced service as our enhanced service template are made available to all practices.  For more information see here
